In September 2007, VATSIM controllers were presented with a ground-breaking new ATC client, the EuroScope. A state-of-the-art ATC software that combines features learned from real-life radar software and years of online virtual controlling experience, EuroScope set the standards of controlling environment to new heights.
Over the last 6 months, we continued development work on EuroScope based on feedback and wishes of users. The new version 3.0 arrives now again to provide VATSIM controllers with brand new functions and advancements of existing features, such as:
>> Advanced coordination functions with other controllers >> Tower view mode >> Customizable SID/STAR and Runway selection >> New automated checks: Euroscope will monitor the aircraft's adherence to cleared altitude and route (CLAM/RAM)! >> New shared information: scratchpad texts, new ground status flags will be displayed to all relevant controllers >> New lists: Plan ahead and keep overview of your flights with the advanced sector inbound/exit and departure lists; display multiple METARs >> Easier voice and text ATIS setup >> Easier sector file development >> ILS, Visual Approach flags >> New built-in tag families (Eurocat 2000, SATCAM, etc.) >> a number of new keyboard shortcuts
Have you ever imagined you could control virtual flights as real as it gets? Visit www.euroscope.hu, download the latest version of EuroScope and see for yourself. |

VATSIM is pleased to announce the release of VAT-Spy, a traffic and ATC viewer application exclusively for the VATSIM network. VAT-Spy was developed by Ross Carlson, author of VRC (Virtual Radar Client), an ATC radar simulator for VATSIM.
VAT-Spy was closely modeled after ServInfo. The feature set includes a few new items such as:
* Smooth panning and zooming on the world map. * Most fonts and colors on the map are customizable. * Multi-threaded for high performance and responsive interface. * Map bookmarks allow you to save favorite views of the map.
In general, the goal for VAT-Spy was to mimic the primary functionality of ServInfo, while providing a more responsive user interface through the use of multi-threading, as well as smooth panning and zooming on the world map.
VAT-Spy is a Windows desktop application built on the Microsoft .NET Framework. To learn more about VAT-Spy, see some screenshots, and to download the application, visit the VAT-Spy home page at www.metacraft.com/VATSpy/ |

VATSIM is proud to present this new version of VRC, the 1.2 developed by Ross Carlson. Following is a list of features included in VRC. Bear in mind that VRC was never intended to accurately model any real-world
Air Traffic Control radar system. It has several different radar modes that somewhat closely model the data tags and targets
shown on some types of real radar systems, and there are a few features listed below that were inspired by features found in
real systems. However, most other aspects of the program were created more with ease-of-use in mind, as opposed to realism.
